[Port Rhombus Claymation]

you can cut!

Now that's how it's done. i was expecting this to be a dodgy half-done boring claymation. i'm usually not a big fan of claymations on newgrounds - they're usually too slow. but this really raised the bar! fit the music perfectly even though you said it was out of sync. I love your fast and inventive edits and interesting use of camera angles. I didn't think the image quality was that bad either. I definitely want to see more of this - keep it up!!

damn simon i love your stuff (i'm the guy that did the sound for phantasmagoria). its cool how you put yourself in the scene instead of pure animation. and how you played with the conventions of film noir (the black and white balls part was hell funny). my only criticism is the sound - its a bit wet and gurgley but i guess thats what happens when you compress it to a reasonable size. otherewise, nice noir mood - hope you get(got) an A+

finally a collab that links

that was cool. finally someone's done a collab that actually links together instead of random cuts to completely unrelated animations. there should be more collabs like this in the portal.
unlike other collabs all the graphics were somewhat consistant and smooth and even though each artist had a different style they were all high quality and complimented each other.
music was totally awsome - it really drove the flash along and it's good to hear some swinging jazz.
can't wait for another one like this - good luck in the future.

this truely is amazing - music perfect - graphics perfect - you obviously didn't just do it on flash (if you did how the hell did you?). It reminds me of a movie called microcosmos. I also saw your nim film, that wasn't as good graphics wise but i still gave it a five. I think if you could develope some characters and build up a story with dialouge using this kind of imagery you could go a long way. I look forward to your next films.

i read the other reviews and it seems like a lot of people are getting angry that you didn't make the audio. I agree with you, people make video clips for songs they didn't make all the time and send them to this site and they don't get blammed.

it was well done - the drawings were crude but it was funny as hell (i like the menu joke). send a couple more of these in. but next time you should credit where you got the audio from so people don't get so angry (or even better do it yourself).

Thank you for your insight. I had no idea who made the audio in the first place, so I used Win MX as the artist (since that's where I got it). I try to give as much credit as possible in order to keep myself out of trouble in the first place, but when I'm limited, I just go right to the source of the file.

Anyways, thanks for your comments, and I'm sure you'll see another (better) flash in the near future.

it's a little short but there is potential. up lifting messages are always good - though sometimes they can be too sappy (this one wasn't). work on your skills and you could go somewhere. :)

brilliantly crap

Normally I hate this kind of thing but this was an exception. The way it loops works well as it leaves the ending open. And the randomness isn't to an extent that it detracts from the movie. I like the shots of the kids and the cow, especially the kid drinking from the dog bowl. The music builds up a lot of suspence leading no where. Nice job.

Holy shit you didn't get your animation shown at the hams! This is way better then anything that was shown there - And it's on the front page of newgrounds!! That is way unfair. I'm the guy who made that really long movie (flY agariC) which got best soundtrack. Better luck next year.
